windows & doors & doors & windows

For this "new thing to create or explore" through photography, I had to look up some interesting photography project ideas. A lot of them were what you might expect - 365 projects, working with black and white, etc., but I liked the ideas that had you work on a project by actually taking a picture of something. That's how I found this site that gives you plenty of ideas of things to take pictures of, especially things that you might not consider taking pictures of in the first place.
I especially liked the idea of taking pictures of doors and windows. Every door and every window is always different, always tells a different story, always leads to a new place (duh). I kind of fell for this idea of windows and doors being barriers we can easily take down, things that are easy to move to get the things we want. So, I went around and took pictures of different doors and windows in my house and other places around, and compiled this set of different doors, and windows.

Michigan Radio

http://www.michiganradio.org

Broadcasting from right here in Ann Arbor, Michigan radio actually is the most listened-to radio station in Michigan. This isn't surprising, because they cover every topic in Michigan from the Detroit Auto show's "scrums" to up-and-coming musicians like Frontier Ruckus. With so much coverage, it's hard to not to notice this NPR-linked radio station.
The Michigan Radio site functions simply: each new broadcast is written out into and article for readers, and one can even listen to the recorded broadcast if one so chooses to. Moreover, there is a direct link in the top left-hand corner to listen to the station right from your computer via wi-fi. With so much emphasis being put on the radio era dying down, this site makes radio free and easy to access. The site is simple, easy to maneuver, and constantly being updated from its broadcasts. I'm not much a radio fanatic, but I definitely read articles online often. This site makes it so easy to do so, and always has interesting daily articles about topics in Michigan.
