So this image is pretty small but if you click on it, you can see it a lot better.
The assignment for this create was to take an image of a TEDx conference and make it fictional. Since there are so, so many cats on the internet, I thought it would be completely appropriate to have a TEDx conference about them...obviously. Here were my steps to make this image
- Blur out previous words on the screen (made it look like it was glowing)
- Added text to screen, and blurred it in a little bit so it didn't look too crisp
- Open cat image > split layers by cut (to get rid of background) > positioned cat at desired location [will expand on this later...]
- Blurred out edges of cat so it would look more natural
- Added "Good evening everyone" text > positioned it correctly
And that's it. But really though, Gimp is the worst. I spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out how to split the layer so that the cat and it's background would be separate, and then another 20 minutes figuring out how to simply resize him. Two really simple things...made complicated by the awesome Gimp app. Thanks, bro.
